Avenue Plamondon. Montreal City Council renamed 8e Avenue "Rue Plamondon" on 29 May 1911 without giving a reason for this name. It is probably named for the painter Antoine Plamondon (1804-1895), or possibly the singer Rodolphe Plamondon (1875-1940).

 TRIVIA
This station served as the orange line's terminus for a year and a half, from its inauguration until the line's extension to Du Collège.

The walls were originally supposed to be painted red and orange, but red and blue were chosen to give greater contrast.

Scenes from Micheline Lanctôt's film Sonatine were filmed in this station.
