ORIGIN OF THE NAME
View of av. du Parc
Avenue du Parc. This major street is so called as it runs past the Parc du Mont-Royal between ave. des Pins and ave. Mont-Royal. (See also Mont-Royal.) The metro station is located at the northern end of the street.

In 2006-2007, Mayor Gérald Tremblay proposed to rename Av. du Parc and rue de Bleury to commemorate Premier Robert Bourassa; though passed by the city council, the plan was dropped in the face of stiff opposition. Since there was a moratorium on metro station name changes, a small segment of Av. du Parc near the station would have been left unchanged, meaning the station's name would not have changed either.

Name during planning phase: Du Parc.
