|
|
Salut!
Has anybody had any success in getting the STM bus schedules onto a PalmPilot or other handheld in a convenient way? So far the best way I've found is to copy-and-paste the schedule for a particular stop as displayed on the STM website into an Excel worksheet, which I can then load up on my Palm. This is rather labor intensive, as it has to be repeated for each stop on each route that I am interested in, and has to be redone each time the schedules change.
I e-mailed the STM webmaster last year with a suggestion that they make the schedules available for handhelds in PalmOS format. In their reply, they seemed favorably disposed to such an idea, but there were no firm plans to do so. I believe transit systems in San Francisco and Portland OR have done so already.
To travel to work, there are about 8 bus/bus or metro/bus combinations I could take, and having the schedules on my PalmPilot would allow for "on-the-fly" decisions about which one to take, as my departure time in the morning can be quite variable.
Any advice/experience/comments welcome!
Merci! |

Hmmm... I'm not sure if the STM has a WAP version of their Website that we can access with a cellphone but even if it did, it would be very expensive ($0.03-$0.04/Kb) to check it out that way.. Especially if you're doing it on a daily basis! |

I use my Pocket PC to hold an Excel file I made of all bus schedules for lines I use, but I do it the same manual way.
And I tried accessing the AMT train schedule via the wireless Web on my phone, and I got nowhere (FRAMES! ICKY!). _________________ Tim FitzGerald |

With a cell phone and the TRAM and telbus numbers, there's no need to access your web browser (IMHO) |

I just tried out a method of importing Planibus schedules to a Palm powered handheld device.
7. Synchronisez votre PDA et votre ordi et voilà! Vous aurez un planibus sur votre Palm. |
