I have recently been on one of the newer Novas (#22-286, westbound 162). They are heated, have smaller, but brighter displays, and are currently running routes outside of St.-Laurent, as they used to only frequent routes like the 64, 121, and 171. Also, how far does the numbering on the newer buses go? The highest I've seen thus far is 22-300.

Unless I have my numbers confused, Montreal was owed 225 more buses after the 21-200 series were delivered last year, so the last one should be 22-425, unless they're getting another one to replace 22-207, which was in a collision early in its service life, or if they've worked out a delivery deferral with Nova Bus that could see some of the 22-000s carry over into 2003 as a separate delivery.

I hope they will replace the buses by more buses, because the new models (Nova LFS) have a lower capacity than the Classics and New looks models.

The LFS busses don't have the same capacity, for the simple reason that the stairs in the back (or the ramp, depending on the model) take up space. The front wheels, where you used to be able to sit, now are useless space with that cone on top and the bar around the edge. There are 29 seats on the LFS and 34 on most Classics (again, depending on the model and arrangement of the seats)

And standing on an LFS while it moves is a job in itself, the take off speeds are good for getting to your desintation faster, but it is very easy to lose your balance.

When I went to school, the bus was always full, and the only way to get passengers in was to open up the back door and let them in there, otherwise we would never pick anyone up. (I took the 112 in the morning and afternoon)

The afternoon was good since there was a bus dedicated to the school, but I never took that one, I always waited 2 minutes later and crossed the street from the school and took the regular bus, it was less full, since everyone took the bus for the school. The 110 route down the block sometimes can have as many as 12 Classic busses on the same route at the same exact time, and the 106 on Newman always has packs of 6 Classic busses together every 10 minutes.

It's funny that you see more Classics and New Looks at rush hour than you do at regular time. (I understand because they need more busses, and they use the whole fleet at rush hour)

Well, those are my findings.
I can honestly tell you that I also get in a lot less fights with other passengers on the Classics than I do on the LFS, with the Classics you can stand futher apart and still have room, the LFS busses can pack you in, but you'll be stuck together!

quels sont les autres modèle d'autobus que la STM pourrais considérerparce que les nouvelle Nova LFS... elles sont ben belle, il fait bien chaud... et l'affichage orange fait beaucoup d'heureux... sdauf que les affichage commencent déjà a briser (contrairement a ceux vert) pis le chauffage sort aux jambes... (on se brule presque quand on est assis a coté du mur !

vous voyez donc pourquoi j'étais totalement contre ces affichage ??? a la STM on a recu les nouvelles LFS, et 1 mois plus tard, yen a 3 qui sont défectueuse !!! (j'en ai vu 2 sur la rooute et ce n'étais aps les même numéro que l'autre de hier)

vraiment la STM n'a pas fait un choix judicieux !

Cette technologie n'est pas encore au point. On aurait pu avoir encore pour quelques années des afficheurs à plaquettes vertes, ils étaient très bien.

ils l'ont toujours été d'après moi, beaucoup de ville en ont, mais ils n'ont pas leur flotte au complet avec ces merveilleux afficheur a Plaquette !!!

Ce ne sont pas mes préférés. Mes préférés sont les girouettes (c'est comme ça qu'on appelle ça?), présentes sur les anciens autobus. Ce que j'aimais, c'est que l'on pouvait mettre une couleur de fond: verte pour les lignes express, etc.
