Pierre Granche

Pierre Granche Born: 1948, in Montreal
Died: 1997, in Montreal

Pierre Granche studied at the École des beaux-arts de Montréal and the Université de Vincennes in Paris, and taught at the University of Montreal from 1975 to 1997. He helped to found the Département des arts plastiques at the university. He was well-known as a sculptor for integrating his works with architecture and the environment, and for pushing the barriers of public art. His death at only 49 was mourned as a deep loss for the Quebec art world.
